About SHL House
Our training centre in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The SHL House is an educational center that provides accommodation and living space for young people aged 14 to 30. The house also hosts seminars, trainings, workshops, and other forms of non-formal education.
The SHL House, which was opened in 1999 in Sarajevo, was built by German secondary school students with the aim of offering young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from abroad, a neutral place for learning and exchange – regardless of ethnic, religious, gender, or any other affiliation.
In addition to the Schüler Helfen Leben foundation’s educational programs held at the SHL House, the seminar facility can also be used by other NGOs and youth groups for their activities!
The financial participation generated by the SHL House is reinvested into youth projects of the Schüler Helfen Leben foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Freetime
To make your stay at the SHL House as pleasant as possible, a living room with a balcony is available, where you can watch TV, play various board games, or simply relax and connect with others over guitar music in your free time. Of course, there is also our garden, which offers the opportunity to hold workshops outdoors, as well as to relax or spend time together enjoying barbecues and sports activities.
