Who We’re Looking For: 

We’re searching for a Youth Education Coordinator who’s enthusiastic and ready to take on the challenge of empowering young people through education. If you’ve experience in non-formal education or youth work and have been active in making a difference for young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we’d love to hear from you! Previous experience with SHL’s youth programs is a big plus.  The successful candidate will coordinate and implement educational programs, work directly with schools, students, teachers, and NGOs, and will be expected to travel frequently within BiH. Additionally, the role includes assisting with fundraising efforts to support youth education programs. You’ll need to be comfortable speaking and writing in both English and BHS languages (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian), as these will be the primary languages you’ll work in.  

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and run SHL’s youth education programs, making sure they match our mission of empowering young people
  • Work directly with schools, youth organizations, and NGOs to deliver fun and impactful educational programs 
  • Be a mentor for young people in our programs and help them become active, engaged citizens
  • Build connections with SHL alumni and develop partnerships with new schools and youth groups 
  • Travel to schools and communities to see how our programs work, gather feedback and support young people in action
  • Help improve and update our educational content to keep it fresh and relevant
  • Create reports, analyze data, and promote the programs in creative ways
  • Organize, implement, and facilitate seminars, workshops, and events that inspire young people to get involved 
  • Assist with fundraising efforts, including writing proposals, identifying potential donors, and helping us secure funds to keep our programs running strong 
  • Work with the SHL team to brainstorm new ideas and projects that align with our mission of youth empowerment 

 

What You’ll Need: 

  • Experience in non-formal education, youth work, or activism (especially in BiH) 
  • A passion for youth empowerment and making a difference in your community 
  • Participation in SHL’s youth programs is a bonus! 
  • Some experience with fundraising or working with donors is a huge plus 
  • Solid English skills (written and spoken) since you’ll be working and communicating in English 
  • Good organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks 
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel around Bosnia and Herzegovina
